Clashes, collisions and historic rivalries. There’s so much to look forward to when the 2023 Wheelchair Rugby European Championship comes to Cardiff from 3-7 May. Witness wheel-to-wheel action as Europe’s top athletes put everything on the line to become European champions on one of the world’s most famous sporting stages.

Europe’s best eight teams will take to court in the iconic Principality Stadium in Cardiff, where places at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will also be at stake.

Our Vision
‘To deliver the best European Championship ever’

This championship will provide the ultimate experience for athletes, fans, volunteers, and partners, while also creating a legacy of more people playing, volunteering, and supporting this high-impact, adrenaline-filled sport throughout Wales.

Get ready for rugby as you’ve never seen it as we create an arena within the stadium, installing a court on top of the original grass rugby pitch. Our athletes will feel both the intimacy of the arena with spectators close to the court, whilst also experiencing the thrill of playing in a landmark venue and having access to the world-class facilities it provides.

We can’t wait to welcome you to Cardiff!
