World class athletes need world class equipment and mechanical support, so we are delighted to announce RMA Sport as our Official Sports Chair and Equipment Partner! The high-performance sports and active wheelchair providers specialise in sports wheelchairs that excel in design and performance – allowing for all the intense clashes, smashes and collisions that we can expect from May’s event!
As part of the partnership, Bridgend-based RMA Sport will provide pro-bono mechanic service for all competing nations’ chairs at the event, throughout both the training period and actual competition at the championship.
RMA Director Simon Dalton commented: “As a Welsh manufacturing company we are especially pleased to be able to support this event in Wales. It is fantastic to be part of this ambition which, for the very first time, sees the sport being played in the Principality Stadium, a truly iconic venue and in the heart of so many people in Wales. We have been a partner of Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby since 2011 and we share the pride of the team’s gold medal Paralympic achievement and of Cardiff being selected to host this prestigious event.”
Event Chair David Pond said: “RMA Sport has been a critical part of the development and success of wheelchair rugby in Great Britain. Its investment in new chair technologies and its focus on creating chairs at different price points to meet the needs and budgets of different competitors, from young people to elite athletes, has been a key enabler for growing the sport in Great Britain. They have been the best of partners and I could not be more pleased to see them fronting the sports chair needs for what will be an incredible event.”
RMA Sport technicians will be on hand throughout the tournament to provide technical support to all competing nations, allowing them to fully focus on the competition. They will also be available to showcase their sports chair products and design service.
