We’re extremely excited to confirm the final team line-up for next year’s Championship! Clashing at the iconic Principality Stadium in Cardiff from 3 – 7 May next year will be France, Great Britain, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Israel and Czech Republic.
Reigning European champions France along with Denmark, Germany and Switzerland secured their qualification back at the Wheelchair Rugby European Championship in Paris in March 2022. Home soil participants France emerged victorious at this event, having defeated current Paralympic and winners of the past three European Championships Great Britain in the final.
Earlier this month, Netherlands, Israel and Czech Republic qualified at the Wheelchair Rugby Qualification Championship in Norway, which means that the European Championship will see Czech Republic compete for the first time since 2013, and Israel compete for the first time in the history of the tournament!
The 2023 European Championship is set to be fiercely competitive, with the top two teams automatically qualifying for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris alongside France as hosts.
Teams will be drawn into their pool groups and fixtures confirmed closer to the tournament.
